About PASC/SCPA

Canadian scholarship in palaeoanthropology, evolutionary anthropology, and Palaeolithic studies has reached a critical mass which merits the establishment of our own society. PASC/SCPA serves to bolster communication, provide a forum for the discussion of novel ideas, and support research by faculty and students at Canadian institutions.

The long term goal of the society is to promote awareness and understanding of the discipline among: 1) granting agencies, by establishing it as a recognized research area by the Tri-Council; and 2) the general public, by advocating for improved coverage of human evolution in school curricula. More immediately, PASC/SCPA provides connections for students and faculty across various institutions engaged in palaeoanthropology research and graduate study
